I painted this 2nd Demo yesterday to try out a new to me oil painting paper called Stonehenge by Legion Paper. I didn’t call it by the correct name in the video, sorry, but this is a photo of the pad. There is a good information page on the paper on Legion Paper’s website. Click this link to go there.

Titanium white, Cadmium lemon yellow, Cadmium yellow deep, Yellow ocher, Cadmium red light, Alizarin crimson, Ultramarine blue, Cobalt blue and Manganese blue (added mid way through demo).

As I mention in the video, the Stonehenge Oil is not as absorbent as the Arches ‘Huile’ oil painting paper that I’ve used quite a bit of. This paper takes the paint easier, and it doesn’t soak up as much oil so that the paint doesn’t turn so matte, so fast. I liked it very much!
I just taped it down with some black Artist Tape, and started to work on it. When I paint on Arches ‘Huile’ paper, I almost always treat the paper with a shot of Krylon Archival Re-touch Varnish so that the paint doesn’t sink into the surface right away. The fact this can be used for acrylic as well, is a bonus. I will give those a try on it soon.
