Patreon
This is a short one just to let y’all know that I have begun a Patreon site where I will be creating and posting video tutorials and other information about painting. I’m taking this step because it’s specifically designed as a platform for doing just that. If you don’t know about Patreon, it’s a platform for digital creators to post and create a community of people who would like to see what they do. In my case, besides just being able to subscribe for free, I have three membership tiers, each with varying benefits.
Right now most of my posts are re-posts of much of the material you’ve seen here on my Substack, and it’s free to view, just to get things rolling. As time goes on, I will be creating new material just for the Patreon community, mostly for the three paid tiers of membership, but some free material as well.
It can be like a workshop with posts showing the stages of a paintings’ progress, or as a full demo, and no one has to travel anywhere to take part in it. The ability to have a community of artists who can ask questions and comment is well done, making feedback nearly classroom like.
The Tiers of membership start out at a low $7.00/month, and step up as benefits increase. As an example, my premium category, the ‘Huge Easel Mentorship’ is limited to a small number of subscribers. Each subscriber will be able to email me an image for critique, once a month for as long as they’re subscribed at that level of membership. I will be critiquing and returning a .pdf word document, possibly a digital correction, or even a possible painted sketch showing my recommendations.
More info about all of the membership tiers is on the site. It’s all pretty self explanatory.
