Hi Marc. I’m enjoying the video clips but find that with so much ‘incoming’ these days I am finding it disjointed to watch in segments. If they were linked together as a unified whole, I’d happily spend an hour or two watching it in a comprehensive way, notebook at hand. Less frequent, but more complete demos would be more soothing for my addled brain. Might a final complete video be in the works? I’m really finding your voice over useful and a good level of detail. Hope this feedback helps.
Your initial pole question on the ideal length of videos was answered before you launched. I was in the 6-10 minute camp. Seeing how you’re delivering these videos I think 20 min clips would work well. Food for thought.
Might as well go ahead and test out your idea a couple times and see how it goes. Hard to predict. Perhaps do this for several paintings because some will resonate better with your followers than others. I think it’s a worthwhile idea
What are the colors/brands of oil paint on your palette. I was surprised to see the warm yellowish tone you used to alter the blue in the cloud color...it made it gray without making it green!
Hi Mark, I’m really loving your teaching videos as a paid subscriber. I live near Bluffton, SC and we have a dedicated group of sux plein air painters who I might could corral for a workshop in the late fall. Would you be interested? Let me know and give me your best dates and price before I reach out to them. I’m thinking maybe 2-3 days? What think you?
Good point. But there's a reason for the shorter length videos. I took a poll early on to see if readers were interested in longer or shorter videos. One problem with videos longer than 10-15 minutes is that it takes Forever to upload, the uploading failing many times. My wifi is not the greatest out here making uploading large files, and these are very large files, difficult to pull off. As it is, I sit waiting for almost 30 minutes for a 6-8 minute video to upload. That limitation alone is one reason I limit the length of the vids.
Here's what I wrote after the poll was closed. The comments are there to read, but the majority of people who spoke up asked that the videos be less than 10-15 minutes, most wanted them to be less than 10 minutes... "There are only 2 days left, but at this writing, it looks like videos greater than 5 minutes vs shorter than 5 minutes lead 2:1. The poll about subject matter of the videos is about evenly split. From the comments I’ve received, thank you for those, the majority of people who voted for 5 minutes or longer had a limit to that of about 7-10 minutes. "

I listened to what the comments said. I understand where you're coming from however. Thank you for adding to the conversation.
