I ordered and am charged international shipping. Should have deleted the order until I learned the problem with the link. Oh well, hopefully it is as easy to apply as advertised. Thank you for the recommendation.
It's very easy to apply. I did put a "Disclaimer" in the post because these things are very personal. One brush is magic for one painter, the next painter uses the same brush to light a grill with! (I don't confess to having done this...) ;-)
Sorry about that but when I ordered, they cancelled the order and refunded me later that day. I wrote to them asking whey and they said that they don't ship those sort of products overseas. I had too many windows open when I was creating the post this morning.
As promised, here is the report. They cancelled my order because it was a chemical and they didn't ship overseas. The store in New Jersey has not responded to my email request so guess I am out of luck. Considered all of the more important things happening in the world and our family, this isn't a tragedy but I am disappointed. Thank you again for the information. Have a Joyful and Merry Christmas.
Your life is upside down with health scares and you still think of giving to others. I appreciate the kindness, Marc.
I hope your children continue to heal well.
Thank you for the oil primer recommendation. I found it in a nearby city and immediately ordered a can. It’s the first time being Canadian helped me access art supplies!
I can’t wait to try it. Like you, I’m sensitive to the surface under my brush and its effect on colour.
I'm thrilled that you found the primer locally! I think that from what Lori told me, ya'll are just smarter! I can't believe that with all the concern causing such a big interest in water based media, water miscible oils and all, that our own art suppliers here don't see fit to stock it as an alternative! I have also contacted a good man working with Blick to see if they can bring it into our stores here. Let me know what you think about it. You're so right, to some the touch under the brush is critical, to others, not so much. I fall in the sensitive category. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
Hi Marc ... Merry Christmas to you and Dottie... and hopefully your children will recover the best possible. I will be praying for them. Thank you for the info on this primer. I have been purchasing linen panels that are oil primed. Your discussion about the primer you are using is very interesting because I occasionally paint on wood cradled panels that are not primed. I will share your post if you let me know I can do so, especially since it has personal "life" info, and you received the "okay" to share to other artists and I do not have that permission. No hurry. BTW... love the painting above!
Merry Christmas to you and yours Marsha! I just edited the post because I linked the wrong art supply store. The one you want is this one https://www.armadilloart.com/contact-us. Email them if you're interested in purchasing this primer. Thank you for asking, but feel free to share. Cheers!
Thanks for the tip! And I hope Dottie’s son gets better soon and your son somehow gets through his accident. Sounds horrific especially as a parent. Try to find some peace and hopefully the new year will be better. Hugs.
Merry Christmas and thank you for your timely post. It seems life quietly meanders on for awhile and you feel content and unaware of sudden tragedies. Then out of the blue, it hits your own family. I have been where you and Dottie are and it nearly broke me. It is a difficult time to fight your way through the chaos and the tears. You just hold on because there is no other choice but that. I believe in hope. I believe in faith and strength. Love will get you both through. It is a holy promise. Thank you for sharing your passion for art, your inner spirit and your humanity. One day at a time ~ it is the only way through.
Thanks for your good and generous gifts to us in this piece, Marc, both professional and personal. I hope both you and Dottie can find peace through renewed health of your sons.
I’m looking forward to trying the primer; I’ve used an Art Spectrum spray for pastels in the past. And you’re right: Dottie is a very good writer but so are you! (Take that from a retired English professor.) All the best to you and your families this Christmas.

Well, I will report back. So excited to try it.

As with Dottie, I wish your son a full recovery and peace to your family.
