That's funny. I sort of get it. My reasons were not so much that because I had painted with milk paint (casein), gouache (gum arabic and various plasticizers), and of course oil paint. What I had more trouble with was the paint quality, specifically a lack of pigmented colors. Now that's all changed and if you can get past "plastic", it's a new paint world to explore. :-)
Love the Demos and learning more about the acrylic process. I’m strictly oil but want to try the acrylic. Would love to see your palette and how you are working with the paint. I think that’s important in learning to use them. I’d like to see the videos more frequently than once a month for continuity… thanks Marc!
Terrific video. I learn so much watching you work. If only I could retain it all when I go back to my easel! Looking forward to the next segment. Thank you.
Both your narrative and your brush technique with the flats are very educational. Loved your comments re the age, and growing environment of the trees. Also was struck by your sequencing where you paint the trees and foreground before the sky. Looking forward to next steps.
Also, really looking forward to future lessons in oil. Thank you!
I have shown the palette when painting smaller pieces. In my case, I don't have the tools (multiple cameras, tripods, etc.) or the big one The Space... to do a set up like many of the more professional video makers do. I hesitated to even do these for a long time because of that. I do keep working on it, but so far I'm doing about as much as I'm able to do considering all of those things.
I mixed in a little bit of Naples Yellow Hue to warm the white slightly. Then I talked about glazing the area with some glazing medium and a little color (of choice, but probably a goldish color) to unify it all.
Thank you Marc. I'd prefer to see the next segment sooner rather than later.
Thanks Jo-Anne. That's probably what's going to happen.
I feel like I have been an "oil snob" for years. I did not want to paint with plastic paint. You are changing this perspective for me bigtime.

Much thanks for that demo, very informative about the importance of the large shape. Look forward to seeing you complete it soon. Thanks. Tony
Thanks for tuning in, Tony!
Glad to see you are feeling better. Your work is always beautiful, but honoring trees is so so wonderful! I look forward to seeing the next segment.
Thank you, Breda. Pretty much back to normal... if that's a good thing!? ;-)
Love your demos. I learn so much from them.
Thank you!
Thanks Marc, great demo!💪
Glad you enjoyed it Honza!

Great video, Marc. I hope you continue filming your progress on this one. I'd like to see how it gets knit together. You film it, I'll watch it:-)

I would like to see your palette too! Check out Ian Roberts on youtube for ideas on how to show both.

I have learned a lot from you. Thanks Marc!
Sooner, please! Can’t wait to see what comes next. So beautiful and spot on about shapes first and how color will follow structure. 🙏
I need to see how this story ends. Please show us .
Was that a pure white you used to cut in the shapes?

I like watching you make those sky holes and refine the shapes of the trees.
Thanks very much, Edna!
Thank you so much for the primer info—trying that today for my next acrylic commission.
