Hi Marc,

I did not think I would like the long version, but as some one else mentioned it was good to watch it all in its entirety. Amazing what you did in that short time.

I appreciated the acrylic lesson as that’s my paint of choice..I also appreciated you mentioning your color choices/ mixtures and the info about shadows on cool or warm days, I had never heard that before. I feel I take in bits of your lessons and am applying when I paint.thanks.

What was the Utrecht

brush you mentioned. Like a synthetic hog? I could not find …it sounded like ‘wrench’ brush! I also appreciated you mentioning that you are still learning how to interpret and not represent the scene. Thanks again for sharing your process it’s very hepful.

This is the brush. It is 100% hog bristle, but it must be pretty good because it does not soak up a lot of water, at least not too fast.

Great to hear, Holly! That's very encouraging to me to hear people say that these are giving you little bits and pieces to help in your own painting. Makes what I'm doing here worth it completely!

Enjoyed watching you manipulate paint. It dawned on me watching you to keep the brush on the surface, change direction & use lots of paint. Thank you for a letting us be in the front seat. Tough in a live demo.

I agree and also had a lightbulb moment watching you change the angle of the brush, twist it, turn it, use the side, the tip, the edge. It created a variety of marks that made the piece much more interesting. I need to incorporate into my work. Thank you Marc

Good pick ups, Christine! Acrylic makes the speed of painting a little bit more imperative. But it also doesn't give me time to mess around. That alone has brought some discipline to my painting. Meaning that there's no time to dilly dally. :) Thanks for subscribing.

I appreciate it too. And, loved the full demo in one segment.

I love the use of that small scraper tool for the tiny branches. Is that a kitchen too?

Thanks for the feedback, Lydia. I buy cheap, wood handled silicon spatulas at Walmart and pull the wood handle out of them. Then cut them into sizes for painting with. They're usually sold in 5-packs for something like $10?

I watch the demo a few times also. I also listen in my car while driving so I’m not watching I’m just listening. Doing that always reveals something very interesting. I also watch with a notebook and make comments in my painting journal of ideas I want to remember and reinforce. Thank you teaching Marc. It is making a difference.

I have to say I enjoyed the longer version without waiting to see the finish line. I missed hearing what that small tool you used for the finer branches?

Thank you Marc that was excellent. My favorite part was the beginning where you laid out the design in large dark shapes. Followed by filling in the sky. Also the tip about the temperature if the shadows and how it is inversely linked to the temp of the sky! I did not know. Again I am inspired. This was great!

Marc, This was fabulous. Rarely have used acrylic paints and may have to work more with them. Seeing your bead boxes convinced me that they will make using acrylic lots easier... Could you tell me where I can find these particular ones? Your teaching is simply wonderful. Thank you for all your do to make these demos such good experiences for us.

Hi Marc, this is my first video on the subscription and it was very instructive and interesting. Thank you for your comments on the experience with acrylic, as I work with it in the studio and en plein air and need more tips and thoughts on handling it. You will not remember me but we met in Longmont, I am a PAAC member, and a friend of Ani’s. Take good care!!
