Thanks for responding, I was able to see the video, which I enjoyed and learned from. It just wouldn't let me the first few times I tried, for some reason. I'll make sure to log in the next time -I'll figure it out lol!
I love your videos, been a fan for a long time of your work. Maybe since the lavender cypress piece. Breathtaking. I would like to know the sizes and medium of the other paintings you posted. Thank you. Mary Lou
I apologize for the off topic question: Why is there a writing app (Substack?) that prevents me from seeing the painting demo? I'm not interested in writing, just painting and this seems to be a glitch? Please advise, thanks. Do I have to log in each time? Why do I need a profile?
Rob if you’re a paid subscriber you should receive the video. I haven’t heard from anyone else that they’ve had an issue with this. You probably do have to log in each time. You could pose this question to the Substack help contact.
There is so much to learn in the world of art. It is really incredible. I wanted to ask if the underlying texture I see in your work is the MH gesso. I am assuming it is, so how many coats are you using and brush or roller? I am truly enjoying these weekly virtual demo gathering. Thank you for deciding to share with all of us.
Every day... new things show up to digest and study! I agree and that is what makes it an incredible life to experience, and especially as an artist. You're correct, that is the MH primer that is giving the board texture. For acrylic paintings, the boards get two coats of gloss medium to isolate the acidic wood from the ground (primer), then two coats of the MH primer. Thanks for being a part of this, Donna. :)

Might be it hadn’t downloaded for you when you first checked. They do take some time to download. Glad you were able to access it.

I really enjoyed seeing your use of the palette knife!
