Love all the paintings! Polyflax canvas board? What is it and can oil paint be used on it?

By the way, it's in the 60s and gray skies in the Laguna Beach area. It's our "May Gray" time, soon to be followed by "June Gloom".

Thank you! I am somewhat familiar with that weather having been born in and raised some in Oxnard, went to art school in Pasadena and spent a lot of time in San Diego, and lived up in the northern part of the state also. It gets to you after a while. Painting helps!!! :)

Yes, Polyflax is for oils and acrylics. BUT...I Only use it for acrylics, after having been able to scratch oil paint off of it on several paintings over the last 15 yrs or so. It happened back then, and again recently so I will not use oil paints on it. I don't know why it does that? I use appropriate techniques and mediums, and this happened on some old paintings too, so it's not that the paint was fresh. And they were studies, thankfully, not going anywhere. It happened not only to my paintings, but to another artists' paintings as well. Acrylics adhere perfectly fine. So that's all I use on it.

Frederix makes one version of it. https://www.dickblick.com/products/fredrix-style-520-polyflax-red-lion-canvas-rolls/
