Hi Marc. I like the start of this Good to see process..I saw the next one too thanks
I. Had not heard. Of the Michael Harding non absorbent acrylic gesso, so I googled it. I see the value in using with oils, but as an acrylic painter does it make any difference. I guess if you have it you would use it for both acrylic and oil paintings.
Also in your note books field sketching in acrylic and gouache, do you gesso the page or paint directly on the sketch page?
Hi Holly... Thanks for subscribing so you can see the entire demo! The MH primer is very good for acrylics. I actually find that it is better than some of my old standbys, like Lascaux Primer. Hard to explain exactly, but it feels like the acrylic paint doesn't slide around, it makes it feel 'meatier'... see why I say it's hard to explain! lol It has a grab to the paint, but the paint sits on top of the primer so you don't loose the texture. I haven't used it a lot, but am on my second jug of it now and will be replacing it again with more soon.
No, I do not prepare the pages of the sketch book at all for use with either gouache or acrylic. No need to.
Can I ask a technical Substack question? I'm thinking of starting to add videos and don't really want to go through YouTube. Is your video here hosted directly by Substack?

Just another idiot move for the week. Please ignore as it just popped up.
Hey Marc,
Not sure it’s got something to do with my browser. Clicked “Become Paid…” and directed to sign up for newsletter.
Thanks for your art making tips over the years!
Yes but then it goes to the subscription page
G'day Marc, nice start up. I really like Bob Ross landscape tutorials (with oils) as well. All the best with your page and subscriptions mate.
